PBMs pay pharmacies a reimbursement ceiling that is below the wholesale cost of goods floor for the retail class of trade to independent pharmacies. Counterfeiting ensues. TAP deserves a medal.
What burns me is... instead of appreciating Dr. Jerominsky's honesty & investigating the counterfeiters, the board fines Dr. Jerominsky for ethically reporting this incident!! The good always suffer and the bad gets away with murder.
I agree Chris, PBMs are definitely introducing despicable rates so that they get rebates and at the same time fleecing hardworking people & the government. Money is money, they don't care where it comes from & who they steal from.
I think the politicians need to be asked, “this is effectively steering these brand names medications to the PBMs mail order pharmacy. Have you ever wondered why they want to fill medications that every one else loses money on? Could the PBMs be price gouging the patients and taxpayer money?”
Ok I agree with everything stated, but really have a hard time getting over the use of ain’t from a professional. It lowers the validity of an important subject.
Well said! I too have been reviewing 2023 contracts and have been wondering how they expect us to find drugs at those proposed reimbursement amounts. They truly do seem to be encouraging pharmacies to choose between patient safety and survival of the business!

Given that I’ve had 4 independent conversations in the past month with pharmacies about “should I transfer brands to mail order”
Yes it is steering prescriptions to mail order.

PBM Reform….Overdue!
